May 7, 2007: 2 AM
This is my dog, Goober. My friend Rose will be watching her while I'm in New Orleans. I've finished packing--except for socks, which I must buy on the way to the airport later. I graduated from graduate school on Saturday, so it's been a very busy weekend for me. My occasional insomnia has been bugging me for the last couple of weeks, and tonight is no exception. So I figured I would post my first entry on my New Orleans trip. I'll be leaving at noon tomorrow to spend five days helping to build houses. Stay tuned to see what happens next.

If you want to leave a comment, you can do it two ways:
1. Click on the "other" option below and give yourself a user name (like Mom or Dad). Then when you are done, type your comment in the "leave your comment box" and click "publish" when you are done. Your comment will show up signed with the username you chose.
2. Click on the "anonymous" option. Type your comment in the "leave your comment" box and make sure to sign your name in the box so that I know who you are. When you are done typing your message, click "publish".
(A third option is if you have a gmail account, you can click that option and use your gmail account, but most of you don't have gmail.)
Notice how it shows my name at the top of this post. That is what happens when you choose "Other" and give yourself a username. If you choose "anonymous," then your name will only appear if you type it at the bottom of your message, like this:
Love,
Tina
This is all pretty new to my, needless to say, but I hope this is done right. The best street in my memory was Decatur Street in the French Quarter --Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral -- the Cathedral especially at night -- there are some interesting street acts then in front of it. Have a safe and reqarding trip, Love -- Dad
So I'm guessing the reason you didn't blog last night was either you got locked out after curfew or were so physically exhausted you couldn't. Hope it was the first.
Love, Dad
